The Brief
Initially, La Isla had a narrow focus—a confrontational stance toward industry players and little recognition. They were missing a digital presence and a collaborative strategy. My broader role brought them beyond design—building their ecosystem while shifting them toward industry partnership.
Approach
I built La Isla’s digital presence from the ground up, starting with a narrative-driven website that clarified their mission and made the work tangible. The platform centered real photography and field research, turning complex public health data into something people could understand and support. From there, I extended into fundraising—designing and shaping grant proposals, not just visually but strategically, helping reframe their work as collaborative rather than adversarial. Every touchpoint, from the site to email campaigns, reinforced that shift toward partnership and credibility.

Craft Notes
This was never just a website project. As La Isla’s strategy evolved, I adapted with it—moving from execution into shaping how the organization communicated across fundraising, partnerships, and public presence. I pushed beyond design into messaging, helping reframe their work as collaborative and credible. The goal wasn’t just clarity—it was trust, across audiences that didn’t initially align.
